Tour Plan

Day 01 Kasol to Barshaini Drive & Trek to Kheerganga

Your Pin Parvati Pass Trek begins in the picturesque Himalayan village of Kasol, the gateway to the spectacular Parvati Valley. We recommend arriving in Kasol early in the morning or the previous evening to ensure a comfortable start to the expedition. Before departure, meet your Wild Hike expedition leader and fellow trekkers for registration, an equipment check, and a comprehensive briefing covering the trek itinerary, altitude awareness, weather conditions, safety procedures, and responsible trekking practices. This session allows everyone to prepare confidently for one of the most challenging and rewarding high-altitude treks in the Indian Himalayas.

After breakfast, embark on a scenic one-hour drive through the breathtaking Parvati Valley to Barshaini, the official starting point of the Pin Parvati Pass Trek. The road winds through traditional Himalayan villages, apple orchards, and lush forests before reaching the trailhead, where the real adventure begins.

From Barshaini, follow the beautiful trail alongside the roaring Parvati River, crossing wooden bridges, sparkling waterfalls, and dense forests of pine and deodar. As you gradually gain altitude, the landscape becomes increasingly wild and untouched, offering a perfect introduction to the remote beauty of the Himalayas. The approximately 12-kilometre trek to Kheerganga takes around five to six hours and is filled with spectacular views of forested valleys, mountain streams, and towering cliffs.

By late afternoon, arrive at the famous alpine meadow of Kheerganga, one of the most iconic campsites in Himachal Pradesh. Surrounded by snow-capped peaks and renowned for its natural hot water springs, Kheerganga offers the ideal setting to relax after your first day on the trail. Enjoy freshly prepared meals from our mountain kitchen, spend the evening with your trekking team beneath the Himalayan sky, and settle into comfortable alpine camps as you prepare for the expedition deeper into the upper Parvati Valley.

Day 02 Kheerganga to Tunda Bhuj

Today's journey marks the true beginning of your wilderness expedition as you leave the popular Kheerganga trail behind and venture deeper into the untouched Upper Parvati Valley. Covering approximately 12 kilometres over six to seven hours, the trail gradually transitions from lush forests to expansive alpine meadows, glacial streams, and rugged mountain terrain.

Towering cliffs surround the valley while the crystal-clear Parvati River continues to guide your ascent. The increasing sense of isolation and raw Himalayan beauty makes this one of the most memorable days of the trek. By evening, you'll reach the peaceful campsite of Tunda Bhuj, surrounded by pristine landscapes and complete mountain solitude.

Day 03 Tunda Bhuj to Barshaini

Today's 10-kilometre trek, taking approximately five to six hours, leads through dramatic glacial valleys filled with enormous boulders, cascading waterfalls, and breathtaking views of snow-covered Himalayan peaks. As you gain altitude, the landscape becomes increasingly wild, offering a glimpse into one of the most untouched regions of the Indian Himalayas.

Day 05 Odi Thach to Mantalai Lake

Today's journey takes you approximately 10 kilometres in six to seven hours to the sacred and breathtaking Mantalai Lake, the legendary source of the Parvati River.

Day 06 Mantalai Lake to Parvati Base Camp

Today's relatively shorter trek of around 7 to 8 kilometres, taking roughly five to six hours, is designed to aid acclimatization before the expedition's most demanding day.

Cross glacial terrain as you gradually ascend to Parvati Base Camp, where final preparations begin. Your trek leader will conduct a thorough equipment check, review the latest weather conditions, and provide a detailed safety briefing before tomorrow's early morning ascent to Pin Parvati Pass.

Day 07 Cross Pin Parvati Pass (5,319 m) & Descend into Spiti Valley

The highlight of your expedition begins well before sunrise. Over the course of approximately 9 to 10 kilometres, requiring 10 to 12 hours of trekking, you'll climb steadily across glaciers, snowfields, and steep mountain slopes to reach the legendary Pin Parvati Pass, standing at an impressive altitude of 5,319 metres (17,457 feet).

Standing atop the pass is an unforgettable experience. On one side lies the lush green beauty of Parvati Valley, while the other reveals the dramatic cold desert landscapes of Spiti Valley. After celebrating this remarkable achievement, begin your descent into the pristine wilderness of Pin Valley National Park, where rugged mountains, vast glaciers, and untouched landscapes create an entirely different Himalayan world.
